Our District

cardinal

Central Decatur Schools is located in the county seat community of Leon, Iowa. Decatur County and the city of Leon are approximately 1 hour south of Des Moines. Although the CD schools are located in Leon, the district comprises students from many towns. These include Decatur City, Grand River, Davis City, and Pleasanton. The district covers over 60% of Decatur County. Our schools have been recently updated to provide an academic environment ready for the new millennium.

CD has approximately 750 students, which has been stable for the last 5 years. These students average an ACT score of 25, graduate over 95% of each class, and continue to exceed the No Child Left Behind mandates. We have an excellent education system with an outstanding staff committed to students.

Mission Statement

The Central Decatur Schools will provide students with the opportunity for a quality education to achieve the highest academic, technical, reasoning, and social skills that challenges and prepares all students to reach maximum potential in the classroom, society, and in future endeavors.
